It's one of my sacred soul quest's when
I plan a trip.
It's brings me joy - and up close to understanding the culture and symbols of the destination - in this case Sussex, England.
I love how this symbol is so important that they placed it on the hill for all to see. We do the same, in our homes, our yards, our clothes - just not at that scale. LOL
The Long Man of Wilmington is 231 feet tall. And the drawing is elongated and out of proportion when viewed from above. MAGIC making - arial view's were not available at that time in history.
The amazing thing is when you view him from a distance on the ground he has normal human proportions. Now that's a man who wants to be seen. How did they do that?? Boggles the mind but just shows that this was a very important symbol to the people of that time.
